Airport transfers in Italy

Visit in winter and take advantage of the skiing season in the Dolomites; get off the beaten track and enjoy the countryside in spring and autumn; summer is the season to relax on the beaches and swim in the warm the Mediterranean or the Adriatic waters; and the cities have something to offer whichever time of the year you take your holiday.

Best of all, though, whatever month you take your holiday, your TaxiFinders.com private hire car or minibus will collect you from the airport and take you to your holiday destination. Paid for in the UK and arranged in advance, there will be no waiting around for public transport, holiday package deal transfer coaches (for which you will probably have to pay extra) or stand in line for the next taxi. TaxiFinders.com drivers are all vetted by us. All have driving licences, insurance, and their vehicles are roadworthy. Brought no Euros with you? No problem! The cost of the transport has been paid for in the UK. Time to settle into your hotel, unpack, explore your surroundings and find the best place to change your money.

Explore Venice on foot. Have a coffee (or something stronger) in Saint Marks square, or take a gondola ride or a water taxi to experience the real Venice. The Rialto Bridge and the Bridge of Sighs should not be missed. Don’t forget your camera.

Rome, at any time of the year, has much to offer. The Vatican City is the number one place to visit. If you want to see the Sistine Chapel, lunchtime may be a good time to view and avoid the queues. Climb the steps in St Peters Basilica and marvel at the breathtaking view of Rome and beyond. Michelangelo’s Pietra sculpture is here. Sit on the Spanish Steps and take in the atmosphere, visit the Colosseum, and the Pantheon. And if by the end of your visit to Rome you haven’t seen all that you wanted to see, toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain and this should ensure that you’ll come back!

The industrial city of Milan has fantastic boutiques, and is home to La Scala Opera House. Da Vinci’s painting of The Last Supper is housed in the monastery Santa Maria delle Grazie.

An hour’s drive from Florence, a city of culture and history, is Pisa. The leaning tower, after some building work, is now open again to the public.

The lakes of Como, Lugano and Maggiori are in the Tuscany region. Beautiful, calm, relaxing. The towns bordering the lakes are mainly unspoiled with narrow cobbled streets, cafes, restaurants, and shops. The largest lake in Italy is Lake Garda. Malcesine and Garda have medieval buildings and towers. Walk through the olive grove.

Trains run to Pompeii quite frequently from Naples. It’s about a half hour journey. Take plenty of water with you – it can be hot and dusty. And beware of pickpockets. Mount Vesuvius is still active, but pending eruptions are forecast well in advance, so don’t worry.

Enjoy your Italian holiday, and take advantage of TaxiFinders.com super service.
