The Tassenmuseum Hendrikje (Museum of Handbags and Purses) is not only for the ladies. It’s a fascinating little museum plotting the history of handbags and purses throughout the ages with 4,000 exhibits on display and more in the gift shop!
Amsterdam is a great place to shop with department stores and individual shops. Enjoy a drink in one of the bars or cafes.
Rotterdam is home to the Euromast Tower – a 328 feet construction offering panoramic view of the city and harbour. Walk round the harbour and see the boats and liners.
The Rotterdam Zoo will take up most of a day’s holiday. The animals are well tended in spacious surroundings. Within the grounds is the Oceanium – home to fish, penguins, puffins, sharks and snakes. Take a walk through the tunnel and see the fish and sharks from a different angle. And don’t forget your camera!
In Utrecht is the Nationaal Museum van Speelklok tot Pierement (the Museum from Musical Clock to Street Organ, to you and me), which is housed in an old cathedral.
